The easiest method is to use an enrolled fingerprint to unlock the screen.

To use this method you need to make sure your device has the fingerprint capability and you need to have one already enrolled.

  • When trying to put in the passcode (you may need to put the wrong one in a few times) select Forgot Passcode.

  • This will now allow you to put the enrolled finger on the scanner. Once successful, you will be able to reset your passcode.

The second step to try if you don’t have a device with fingerprint technology, don’t have an enrolled fingerprint or simply find that method not working for you, is to use a security email address.

For this method, you need to ensure you have an email address already connected to your lock screen and you will need to be connected to the internet.

  • When trying to put in the passcode (you may need to put the wrong one in a few times) select Forgot Passcode.

  • This will now allow you to enter your email address already connected to the lock screen. Select Done.

  • You will be able to reset your passcode.

  • Check your email for a verification code. Enter the code to complete the setup.

Another option to reset the screen lock on your Oppo phone is by using Google Android Device Manager. You will need to have a Google account already associated with your phone and GPS needs to have been enabled before the phone was locked.

  • Here you can enter a new lock screen password and select Lock again

  • Select YES

How to unlock your Oppo smartphone with Factory Reset

If you have tried all the methods above and are still stuck, the final option to unlock your Oppo phone is by doing a Factory Reset. Please note that this will DELETE all data off your phone so if you don’t want to lose your data (photos, videos, contacts, settings etc), please try another method an/or ensure you have backed up your Oppo phone.

  • Hold down the power button for a few seconds until the phone turns off.

  • Once off, press and hold the Volume Down and Power button for a few seconds. When you see the OPPO logo on the screen, let go.

  • Using the volume buttons to move through and the Power button to select, choose your preferred language

  • Next select “Wipe data and cache”. You will need to select twice and press the Power button to confirm.
